For the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), left-arm Tiger pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a record price of INR 9.20 crore.
In this year’s IPL auction, Mustafiz had a base price of INR 2 crore. However, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders competed fiercely to include Mustafiz in their squads.
In the end, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for 92 million rupees. That is about 10 lakh 12 thousand dollars. This is the highest price for a Bangladeshi player in the IPL auction.
In 2009, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for 600 thousand dollars. That was the highest price for any Bangladeshi cricketer playing in the IPL.
