Committee Formed to Investigate Irregularities in BCB Election

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) board election held during the interim government period will be investigated following allegations of widespread irregularities, manipulation and abuse of power. A five-member independent inquiry committee has been formed by the National Sports Council (NSC).

The directive to form the committee was issued on Wednesday (March 11) through a notice signed by the NSC’s Executive Director (Joint Secretary) Md. Daulatuzzaman Khan.

The five-member committee will be headed by retired judge A K M Asaduzzaman of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

The other four members of the committee are:
# Md. Selim Fakir, NDC, Additional Secretary (Sports-1 Wing), Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Mohammad Nasirul Islam, Joint Police Commissioner (DB Admin & South), Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

# A T M Saiduzzaman, sports journalist.

# Saleh Akram Samrat, Barrister and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within 15 working days to State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque. The National Sports Council will provide overall support to the committee for conducting the investigation.
