Tamim Iqbal’s BCB Initiates Election Process

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), under the leadership of Tamim Iqbal, has officially initiated the process for its next election following key decisions taken at the third meeting of its Ad-hoc Committee on Monday.

The meeting, held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, outlined several Important steps as part of preparations for the upcoming BCB polls.

Ad-hoc Committees of Regional Cricket Associations Dissolved
As part of a major restructuring move, the Board has dissolved the Ad-hoc Committees of the Regional Cricket Associations of Chattogram, Sylhet, and Barishal with immediate effect.

Invitation for the Nomination of Councillors
In another key development, the BCB confirmed that it will soon issue a formal notice inviting nominations of councillors from all categories, in line with Article 12.7 of the BCB Constitution. This marks the first official step towards conducting the next board election.

Formation of Election Commission
To oversee the electoral process, the Board has also approved the formation of a three-member Election Commission. The কমিশন will include one representative from either the Ministry of Youth and Sports or the National Sports Council (NSC), along with two members nominated by the BCB.

These decisions signal the beginning of the formal electoral roadmap as the cricket board moves towards its next leadership cycle.
